GridPreview

Know your grid connection before you apply. A research prototype that brings Dutch site, building, solar and grid evidence into a cited first assessment for an energy project.

Research before you commit

Planning rooftop solar, a battery, charging or electrification starts with scattered information. GridPreview takes a confirmed Dutch address and project assumptions, then collects available public evidence about the site and its energy context.

The report brings together an overview, site and roof information, grid context, possible routes, checks, next steps and sources. Missing data is flagged rather than filled in with plausible answers.

Evidence before prose

Follow one example report. A draft gets a unit wrong; the checks catch it, and the writer gets one chance to fix it. All figures below are illustrative, not a real site assessment.

Illustrative sequence, not a live run. Only one repair is shown.
Under the hood: LangGraph

A durable PostgreSQL job runs in a separate worker. Source tools collect evidence; a report writer drafts claims; an independent reviewer and deterministic gates check them. The simplified workflow permits one optional repair, then fresh review and checks.

This example ends with a validated report. If a required check still fails, the candidate is saved as blocked instead—not rewritten indefinitely or treated as a successful assessment. Actual runs can also pass without a repair.

Built to be inspected

The Carbon Design System interface presents saved reports, source references, quality checks and PDF downloads. Persisted progress events drive the research status instead of a simulated loading sequence.

The handbook covers first use, data sources, report interpretation, quality gates, local development, Docker deployment and the API. Saved runs retain configuration snapshots so later changes do not rewrite earlier results.

A first assessment, not an approval

Public data is indicative. GridPreview does not establish connection capacity, roof suitability, electrical safety, financial viability or legal eligibility. Those answers still belong to the grid operator and the appropriate professionals. Example reports are explicitly illustrative.
